Welcome to Greater Baton Rouge SHRM. Whether you’re brand new to the chapter or have been part of this community for years, I’m glad you’re here.

GBR SHRM has been serving HR professionals and business leaders in the Capital Region since 1977, and what’s kept us strong for nearly five decades is simple: people who care about doing work that matters. This chapter exists to support you in the real, sometimes messy, always evolving work of HR through professional development, meaningful connection, and practical resources you can actually use.

The world of work continues to change at a rapid pace. Expectations are higher, challenges are more complex, and HR professionals are often asked to carry a lot for their organizations and for their people. GBR SHRM is committed to being a place where you can learn, ask questions, stay current, and feel supported as you navigate those realities.

What makes this chapter special to me is not just the programming or the credentials, it’s the community. This is a space where we grow professionally, give back locally, and show up for one another. From workforce development and education to community partnerships and advocacy, we have opportunities to make a real impact together.
