JOIN A COMMITTEE!
Certification Committee - Manages GBR SHRM's certification program and encourages members to become certified and recertified.
College Relations Committee - Facilitates and is involved with college outreach efforts and student SHRM chapters.
Community Relations Committee - Works to identify and cultivate community partnerships with local organizations that have resources, programs, and support services that can benefit GBR SHRM members and their respective organizations.
Conference Committee - Manages the planning and implementation of the annual conference and coordinates with site personnel, vendors, hotels, caterers, etc.
Diversity Committee - Continuously monitors and evaluates local activities concerning diversity issues, spearheads efforts to diversify the chapter's membership/leadership, and publicizes successful diversity programs within the local community.
Hospitality Committee - Coordinates the logistics of monthly membership meeting, assists with member check in, step and repeat set-up/breakdown and provides assistance to speaker and members when needed throughout meeting.
Legislative Committee - Reviews all Bills filed in the Louisiana House and Senate and makes recommendations to the Board of GBR SHRM regarding which of the Bills are likely to directly impact the HR professional. The Committee also assists in putting on the LASHRM “Day at the Legislature”. While the majority of the work of this committee can be done remotely, we usually meet once or twice in person to discuss Bills, and for the Day at the Legislature.
Programming Committee - While the 2024 Chapter Meeting programming is finalized, the Programming Committee can support conceptualizing and implementing special programming opportunities for members.
Public Relations/Communications Committee - Provides timely and comprehensive information to chapter members and the HR community about programs, workshops, events, and other matters of interest via social media, the website, and newsletters.
SHRM Foundation Committee - Become a catalyst for positive change in HR! Our virtual meetings, held every first Tuesday of the month at noon, offer a unique opportunity for you to actively contribute to our mission of raising funds and awareness for transformative HR initiatives. The committee’s focus will be to organize fundraisers that support the SHRM Foundation and in turn, support educational scholarships to educate the local membership and their families.
Sponsorship Committee - The primary function of the Sponsorship Committee is to help drive affiliate membership and generate sponsors for GBR SHRM events, including the Fall Conference, Holiday Social, and special programming events.
Workforce Readiness - Monitors and identifies issues that impact workforce readiness, plans and encourages chapter involvement in local workforce readiness activities, and works in cooperation with state-level workforce readiness advocates.
